Who manufactures an OEM clutch disk?
Who does Honda use for the stock itr clutch disk?
Reason being I ordered a "OEM" online and received an Exedy(Daikin clutch) even though I specifically asked that it came as a honda part number and was told yes.
Part # is HCDO23U if anyone can give insight to cross reference part numbers.

I am 99% sure all the oem clutches were/are manufactured by Daiken/Exedy--thats why when I needed a stronger aftermarket clutch, the Exedy was a no-brainer.
Well if you dont order from a Honda/Acura "dealer" you are not going to get a "honda part" (ie in Honda packaging etc).
When you asked for Honda part # whoever there prob assumed did it crossreference or something as Honda application.
Either way most likely its basically the same as an OEM clutch.

Ugh. I called his place to ask about a catalytic converter I needed for my girlfriend's car. I think I talked to some dude in New Dehli. I said the one I was looking at is 22-5/8" "direct fit" but the one I took off the car is about 17-3/4" long.
He said "its ok, its only 2/8" different, they updated the catalogue just now"
Well it ended up not being right, but not because of the length.

If you wanted Honda OEM, why wouldn't you purchase from a Honda dealer? Correct me if I'm wrong but aren't Honda dealers the only distributors licensed to sell Honda OEM parts. There are a lot of great aftermarket replacement parts that perform at least as well as OEM.

Actually, the ITR clutch was superceded to the 97-01 Prelude part number.

Because they assured me it was an "OEM" part and less money.

Several of us have had our clutches fail with plenty of life left on the disk material. I would argue that the Exedy made part doesn't live up to Honda quality standards in terms of the materials used.
