Default Pic Select or Koni/GC with 400f/450r

I can't decide which to go with now. I've had the koni setup on my EH2, now i have a DC4. I know i can't go wrong with koni/GC but i'd like to hear the advantages of going with PIC.

I can get the koni/GC setup for 800 shipped or the Select for 1007 shipped. Money really isn't an issue because i pay for quality parts.

Well it also depends on how both sets perform. Just because it is the most expensive, doesn't neccesarily mean that is the best product. The OP Has stated that he used the Koni/GC combo, and liked it. I say if you used it, and liked it continue to use it. I have no personal experience with either, just trying to help a little bit.

So you're saying one is quality and the other is not? Which would you go with? I need advice from people who've run these setups.

If you want a quality full coilover suspension from the shock to the springs I would definately get PIC Selects over a pieced together Koni/GC setup anyday of the week.

It's just my opinion. I know plenty of ppl with Koni/GC setup. I'm not knocking that setup at all. It's a good setup, but IF i had the choice I would personally choose PIC Selects. They're a coilover company that is offering a product that has good R&D behind it as well as dyno charts to prove it. The PIC selects are around 1 grand compared to other coilovers that are around 700.00, so you get what you pay for when it comes to quality.

This is not a Koni/GC vs. PIC debate. This is simply my choosing PIC over Koni/GC if I had that choice.

I wish i could try out both. That'd be sweet. I dont want to go with PIC then be dissapointed. I'll be safe and go with koni/gc.

I have both sets. I prefer the PIC's. Why ? they feel better.
rates Im using:

CRX - PIC Selects 12k f + 14k r
Civic - GC Coilovers/Koni yellows - 550 f + 650 r

We do not have an off-the-shelf set with those spring rates, so if those are the rates you are looking for, your choice is very easy. We have however been providing custom spring rates and valving upon request. This is usually reserved for the user who knows exactly what they want and knows what they are asking for.

There will always be those who like to denounce a product based on no real knowledge of it at all or simply because its not the same thing as the only product they know. By the same token there are people who will support a product based not on first-hand knowledge but on what they can see or read or hear from others.

Its hard to form a personal opinion based on things like that, but I think that we have posted up impressive enough results this year, our first season out, to dispel any doubts as to whether or not our products are the real deal. If you have any questions about the product feel free to contact me and ask away.

Yeah it is lol. I need to know why i should go with one over the other. I'm building my car to perform it's best within a budget. I dont need the BEST but i want something better than average. If the PIC select are better than Konis with 400f/450r, then i will go with the selects. If i up the spring rate for the GC's, i've read that stock koni's can't handle more than 500 safely, and would need to be revalved stiffer. I dont want to have to go through this, so i'm trying to make the best long term decisioin. I drive this car everyday to and from school, about 30 minutes, so wear and tear should be taken into consideration as well.

Im a huge koni and GC fan. All products that i have used of koni's (koni sports, SPSS3 valved koni's, and now 3011's) have all been awsome. And so has the customer service. Ground control has really helped me out sponsoring me with my race car, and they ofer the best quality stuff out there, no questions asked. I don't have a crap load of money, but i only will use the best products. If this means saveing more pennies then so be it.

I think (just an observation) that PIC is a decent coilover for what it is. They have some issues that i don't like, but for a street car the aren't really issues.

to the OP, if this is your daily driver, you are pretty insane to want to run anything above 500lbs springs. Youre ride quality goes to compelte ****.

That's weird b/c the PIC coilover was designed to be a track suspension more so than a street setup.

so you think koni and gc have no r&d and are some fly-by-night company like most of those "jdm" coilover systems?

When did i mention that Koni/GC have no R&D?? I said they're good units.

IF you're referring to PIC, they're NOT Japanese market.
