Turbo Street or SFWD cars driven on the actual street?
Anyone actually had you car on the street? I've got some local yokel that seems to think not ONE Honda running 10's or 9's has been driven on the streets. I don't care if you drove it 5 blocks. You know hows stuborn these domestic guys can get. Keller, Simpson, Art, Ferguson, others?
Most of them are plenty capable of being driven on the street, but very few of them are actually driven, besides off the trailer... To be honest, most of the cars that are 10.50's or lower are usually trailered, and most of the KISS setups that can crack 10's but usually dont make rounds at races are the ones that occasionally pop in at the wendys drive in every now and then lol

Mine is my daily driver
Although my commute to work is about 8 miles each way...other than that it doesn't really come out. I wouldn't drive it anyways with theft out here. I do have my GF's new BMW to drive when we go out, etc...

I drove mine from mazworks in orlando to my house, about a 2hr drive....lol but it still had the stock motor in it. Ask james or mark, when I showed up I was like "****, you guys took it apart", I had to zip tie the cluster in so I could drive it home. Of course james wanted to see me drive away with the chute still on
I used to drive mine from nj to ny and back (about 160 miles round trip) to get worked on and tuned before a race. Now that the car has drag susp. and rides like **** i hate driving it on the street. Plus the last time a drove it on the street i beat a 02 gsxr750 from a role coming back from e-town and i thought i was gonna die. Street tires and 26psi is not good idea, and i also beat the bike
I usually trailer my car to the track, just because its drag racing i dont drive it like i want to drive it home,
but local i drive it around and 1 time an hour home from track because my friends car was on the trailer,
getting 30mpg
curt brown drove his evo 4 hours for the dsm shootout went 9.34@like153
and drove it home...

I think it should be mandatory that SFWD cars are driven on a small 20 mile cruise and then back to justify the car as a legit street car. They have that class in the NMRA and it's highly competitive. I love SFWD but seeing guys pull cars off trailers and stuff is kinda lame. I understand the money that is invested but it just seems like a bad idea for a street based car. I myself am working on a new car which I will run in SFWD, but I am driving the car to the track and home, no trailer, unless I break something. what's the point of building the cars if you can't enjoy them.
I don't have the cash to get a truck and trailer... hell that would be more expensive than the car lol
I'm stuck driving to and from the track./.. one is 160 miles round trip, one is 120 miles round trip... 10.4@140 last year driven both ways.

Hey, hey, now. March 2004, NHRA Fontana. 10.9, 10.6, 10.4. Qualified #1. 10.4, 10.6, 10.38. Won the event. Drove the car to the track 50 miles, drove it home 50 miles with the slicks in the trunk and a Wally sitting shotgun.
Haven't done **** since.... LOL
And the dyno record is getting better, almost up to 50%!! Hehe..
