soon changing to f1spec HID's, because they are waterproof and offer a pretty good warranty!

Good Lets keep this going. This is going to help everybody in the future
if I could do it all over again I would retro TL bi-xenons with zkw e46 lenses
http://www.autolamps-online.com & http://www.hid-online.com
h4 plug & play hylow
6000k philips ultinon bulbs
pd $525
includes custom casper shields
one of the only kits that passes European ECE codes (DOT legal in Europe)
I have had HIDs in my old 2000 GSR (philips 4300k) & had philips ultinons (h3) in my old '97 Civic's aftermarket Projectors. This is kit is BY FAR THE BEST HID kit I have ever used/seen. I installed with the lights OEM CTR headlamps (thanks B18c1_powered_si) which are slightly different from USDM headlamps because there is NO reflector/diffuser in the housing (ie you can see a whole bulb in the housing)
the headlamps
The shield you see here is part of the kit - normally there is no shield in OEM CTR headlamps
look Ma - no amber bulbs
night-time cutoff - 1st pic you can see a slight halo thats a complete half-circle (pic cam out a 'lil dark)
good pic showing frontal coverage

this kit produced results (in terms of area lighting & cutoff) closest to OEM HIDs i have ever seen...these pics don't do it justice IMO

you sir are correct I suggest s2000 for single beam or TL for bi-xenons
but for a "kit" I think the results are pretty damn good for autolamps/hid-online

Civic EG Hatchback
MVR HID Xenon Conversion Kit (made in China) $200
H4 12,000Kelvin
Plug n Play - took 20mins to install

I first installed them on my JDM plastic headlights and the HID just didnt go thru them NO MATTER WHAT - zero visibility SERIOUSLY. So i had to buy these black/crystal headlamps and now they are
. But if i had the chance to do it all over again, i wouldnt. I would stick with OEM Halogens. Feels like im trying too hard to make my 11yr old civic look like those new cars

The JDM lights use a H4h housing which is slightly different from the H4. You might of also ran into the problem of an incorrect focal point when used in the H4h housing in conjunction with the 12k temp rating. Anything after 6k, you'll start losing visibility.

HID Kits glare too much. My friend has them in his car and it's outta control!
bb6 prelude
mercedes e-class bixenon projector
d2s philips 5100k bulbs
paid 600 to have my friend retrofit them
Retrofits are the only way to get a good beam pattern and not spew light all over the place.
As for people considering doing retrofits, I'd hold off a few years and wait for LED headlamps to begin coming out to retro
