Default Power Mirror in a STD Hatch

I have a STD hatch and was wondering the possibilities of putting a Passenger Side Power Mirror on my hatch... I do not intend to use the power funtion though. All I want is a mirror that will be funtional and fits. My plan is to just install it and adjust it by pushing on the mirror manual with my hand.

Think this will work... all the mirrors I see on ebay are powered.

it will bolt up, but the only problem is, the motors behind the mirrior will make it hard to poke around. you may not be abel to get it into the exact positon you want.

If you have your old mirrior, just change the mirrior or the bezel, which ever was broken.

Why not just pick up an inexpensive, used manual passenger side mirror from a local import salvage yard or the H-T Marketplace?

If anyone know how bad this will be or if it will not be bad at all... LMK

Civic STD's don't come with a Passanger Side Mirror to begin with

Since I don't have a mirror to begin with... I don't like the idea of needing to buy two mirrors just to have one.

Supply and demand... There's not that many Manual Ones around compared to the Powered ones. The two local salvage yard don't have any. And the people selling the Manual Ones are selling them for way more than the powered ones. Can you blame them for playing their cards right

I put a power mirror on my passenger side STD from my LX sedan. There is no problem adjusting the mirror outside by hand. The only problem I had is the interior triangular panel doesn't go back on well. It goes on, but doesnt hold well. I left mine off, but I can make it stick with some epoxy.

Yea I was more saying look at that link since you will see the "sails" are different so it won't look right and may fit on but won't mount properly...and acctually it is really easy to move around a power mirror with your hand

hey thankz for the write up loserkidwac. I wanted to put in power mirrors in my 88 std hatch (came with manual mirros on both sides = factory) and could never find an 88 to 89 si donor car. Hell, I've only seen one in my area and it wasnt in a bone yard. I'm quite sure I could use your guide lines with the manual 88 std mirrors. My next step in the power locks and mirros. I know the locks are do-able (i've place the 88 to 91 ex sedan locks on a 87 rex before) but didn;t have a clue about the mirrors until now...
