Default Cleaning suede steering wheel?

Hey all, does anyone have a good method for cleaning a suede steering wheel? I have a black suede Sparco steering wheel and it needs some refreshing. I don't mind the little spots where my thumbs sit that are matted down, but the outside of the steering wheel is begining to look a little dull.

Anyone?

You could try some suede cleaner.

Cleaner that is meant for suede for sure. It will come with a little brush that is used to bring up the matted areas.

It works great, used some on my old Momo.

Well I drove around for an hour and finally found some cleaner. It consists of an eraser of sorts and a brush. The wheel's suede is matted down pretty bad in a few areas, and the cleaner didn't work too well on those areas. Oh well.

Most suede cleaner comes in a spray can, with a brush on the top. You may have better luck with that kind.

The eraser I got comes with a brush. Some of the wheel is too matted down to come up with the eraser and brush.

Haha, very true. I mean, it's a steering wheel - hands all over it all the time.

Any disadvantages? I've seen the shoulder supports on Buddy Club seats faded on the suede part.

Now I carry one of those airline blankets to cover up the seat lol.</TD></TR></TABLE>

Suede will fade and what not with useage. That's just a fact of life. If you want a material that is going to "look" flawless for a really long time then you need leather or something like that. Suede is really nice stuff, but it has it's purpose....which is not to be pretty and cute haha.

The more your palms sweat, the more it grips, whereas vinyl or regular top-grain leather would get slippery when it gets wet.

Good point. Guess suede aint that bad I mean if leather's the only alternative, I'll stick to suede. I didn't have a good experience with my stock leather seats.</TD></TR></TABLE>

Haha, I used to lick my palms if they were too dry. Suede is kinda slippery if your hands are dry.
