spray it down with ammonia, then place a trash bag on it and let it bake in the sun. after about 2 hours remove the trash bag and scrub the window down with a soft sos pad

Yes ammonia destroys tint, it eats the film and it will cause it to turn purple/fade. It is great for removing film because it does just that... For rear windows that have the defroster, use a soft sos pad and it will remove all of the adhesive from the window without destroying the defrost. It takes time, it isn't as simple as on the side windows with just some ammonia and a razor blade after peeling it off.

this is THE ONLY way to remove tint IMHO.

i had a bandana tied around my face. helped alittle with the smell. but yea. amonia, and a garbage bag. let it sit in the sun. peels right off.
