Default downpipe for preludes. squeeze between crossmember?

downpipe for preludes. squeeze between crossmemember?

In the 4th gen ludes, how difficult is it to squeeze a downpipe between the crossmember and the oil pan? any pictures of this tight routing? is a 3" dp possible or only 2.5"? mandrel bend is good enough for clearance? or some extreme piecuts and welding?

3" downpipe between the crossmember will work. It will just take some time to mock up and make it, but it is possible.

Get a traction bar and you'll have tons of room.

Yep, I don't want to post pictures and get banned , but I just installed mine and I now have 6-7" from crossmember-to-engine

If you run a log manifold, a 3" dp will clear the AC barely. On my setup we used piecuts to form the bend off the turbine outlet.

Seems like everything traction bar-related gets you in trouble....but I'll take a chance and post some pics.

i think there is a couple threads about a traction bar for 4th gens. Hawkze_2.3 is using a PFI Traction Bar. and there is also BB6-213 (HT Member) who is also in the process of making them for both 4th and 5th gens. most prelude traction bars i think will be around $400-$450. not exactly sure though. They well defenitly clear up room as you can see in Hawkze pics.

Yes I have 3" dp its a very tight fit,(especially with the moroso oil pan) its defiantly hard work. I have an explicitspeed traction bar and it yields way more room then the stock crossmember did.
