I was just checking over **** today and noticed my coolant hose that comes form the firewall and connects to the back of the head is OLD. Cracked when I squeezed it and its pretty flimsy feeling. Was planning on grabbing some hose tomorrow. Dont know what size it is though, assuming 3/4" - 1"

Hope someone can help

 

its 5/8 I believe but you cant get a straight hose. it has to have the V kink in it because the motor rocks back and forth and if it was straight it would pull off when the motor tilted when under accel/decel

 

Talk about ghetto, my old STD had a red garden hose running from the t-stat housing to the firewall. Never failed on me either so i guess you can just use a straight hose.

 

Doesnt have to fit with no slack though......

Can have it 2" longer

Ive got pretty solid motor mounts anyways

Does regular Home depot hose cut the job as itll be very close to work tomorrow

 

I've always replaced mine with 5/8" heater hose, no problems yet.
