I said it once, and i'll say it again.

Homemade turbos' FTL.
You may beat a car in the 1/4. But the other car will at least see 40k miles without a motor rebuild.

 

Let him learn the hard way. If he is going to make all those modifications, why didn't he buy the Si in the first place.

Sure, then we can slap on a turbo and watch you disappear over the horizon in our rear-view "really fast" Remember also, you may pump your engine up, but your tranny isn't geared to handle it as well as the 6spd thats in the SI.

first off, its not home-made. its made by a company who knows what theyre doing. and if they know what theyre doing i dont see what the deal is. maybe you should read my threads on what the goal is.

ok, and you need a mods to beat just about 70% of everything else on the road.


im defending my car. someone started and ill defend it. there isnt a single r18 thread that eventually doesnt get down-graded to "why didnt he get an si" or "r18 sucks". it really gets old.

i like the Si, i didnt get it because it wasnt out. you might not like this but guess what, its not that fast. sure its fun but it doesnt break 200hp w/o MODS. and isnt MODDING the whole purpose in racing?

 

I'll leave mine full stock till I find a faster 4dr resale,resale resale. Wheels and a little bump is all I need. Good luck though.

I own an LX, and yeah I regret getting it now for the lack of power.

BUT! I will say this.

SI owners honestly dont have many bragging rights. I testdrove one, convinced going into the dealership I was gonna be leaving in an SI and trading the LX in. That didnt happen.. The si is fun, I will give it that. But it lacks power. You have to rev it to the sky before it starts moving. Doesnt it put out the same amount of torque as the r18? Sweet

The SI just isnt that powerful of a car to be bashing other vehicles with. An SI will need MANY mods to beat most sports-inclined cars. Thats just the way it is.

Im deeply considering buying an STI and trading in the LX. Woudlnt it get old if I came on here posting about me raping SIs over and over. Yeah, sounds stupid right? Just as stupid as comparing an SI to an r18 civic.

What a disappointment... They didn't come until December (where I'm at) and unforunately life doesn't wait for you to get a car so gotta make due

 

Yeah... I would of gotten the Si, but I needed a car to drive to ft hood.... *sigh* oh well life goes on

 

yeah... si are really good cars, if i had to pick between lx or si, i would have picked the si, but i did test drive it and its not what most of you people make it out to be! a type S beats it everytime stock to stock! im getting rid of my lx for an 03 S2000 then maybe ill say your Si is garbage compared to my 2000, tell us something we dont know already, comparing an si vs an lx? 200 vs 140? pls.
