Default who's supercharged? what options do i have besides JRSC? (yes i searched)

are there any? I heard the JRSC is basically just a huge ripoff....true? what are your thoughts? (please refrain from posting unless you actually are supercharged or have been....no, i'm not going to go turbo...please don't instruct me to). i want to superchage a b18c1 in a 92 CX hatchback. what else did you need to get besides the JRSC to have everything run right?

vortec sc

makes about 220 to the wheels on an si so it should make atleast the same on a gsr motor if not more.

my friend has a 00si with h/e/i and the jrsc w/9puond pully. he did i pull and put down 198hp at the wheel. i guess he might be able to get more out of it with proper tuning.

oh buy a turbo.....

JRSC kit
Walbro Fuel Pump (GSS317 or 342)
Hondata Intake Mani Gasket or OEM IM Gasket
NGK BKR7E's

Thats about what you'll need to get it going, as well as a PROPER installation.
The 2 SC options are the JRSC or Vortech...if you want an SC, go with the JRSC. You would be happier with a turbo kit if you're interested in the Vortechs characteristics.

Huge rip off? Huh that's funny. 95 dark green GSR 4-door. 100% bone stock except for JRSC kit (6lb's) and modified aem cold air. 13.87 @ 101.67 mph on stock michilans w/ full leather. Fast forward to the present. Stage 1 boost upgrade, Kamikazie header, APEX N1 exhaust, MSD 6BTM ignition, Blaster 3 coil, modified cap, MSD 8.5mm wires, p&p head and a compete engine gasket overhaul. Other then being lowered by eibach springs and a loud *** exhaust, this is sleeper city. Making Porches, Cobra's and SS's feel silly is prieceless. No flaming intended. Just an example. By the way...this thing doesn't have an FPR, cam gears, AFC or even seen a dyno. Just imagine the possibilities. Runs great with no CEL's. Just food for thought.
Later.

JRSC is the way to go, hands down. I've seen JRSC equipped GSR's tear apart Vorthech equipped GSR's with practically identical setups. Not sure if it was driver or quality or the product, but I am a huge fan of JRSC. They have been around for quite some time and stand behind their blower with a 100,000 mile guarantee.

How many lbs of boost are you running? 13.87 is damn good for a 4 door with no tuning.

C-Speeds install is missing a lot of stuff if I remember right.

Ill tell you right now, look at C-Speeds for a base. Now multiply the "pain in the ***" factor by 2. If you cant handle it, pay to get it done. Leave yourself a lot of time, tools and patience, and you should be OK.

Its not something I'd want to do again.

The vortech doesnt make full boost until redline, and is basically a turbo on a stick. Horsepower isn't everything, you need to look at the power curves too. The JRSC hits full boost much earlier, and power is there from almost idle to redline.

I've done a LOT of research on JRSC and it is definitely the way to go. Streetable power from 2k all the way through redline.

I have a friend with a 94 4-door GSR that has JRSC. Car dyno'd at 230whp

It's a monster! I can't wait until I have one in my car!

Yeah the 8psi pulley is on there now. That 13.87 pass was done with a bone stock 4 door gsr, full leather interior, with ONLY the JRSC w/ 6psi pulley and modified AEM cold air. That's it. Stock exhaust manifold, stock cat, stock exhaust, stock everything. With the work that's done now (read previous post) this car will run Low 13's and with Major Tuning and slicks 12.9 is atainable. By the way as far as Vortech. If you like impressing people on a dyno...buy it. If you like a usable power band, buy a Jackson.
Later.

anyone have the link of the article the kid wrote about his problems with the JRSC after having it for 9 months. since Jackon Racing isn't 'Jackson Racing' anymore. and their service is as good as asylumms.com
and there was a post on here or H-A that had the link. either way it's still your choice.. but at least go with a company that has control over replacing your product if something happens JR doesn't... i think they are owned by Moss MotorSports now or something? correct me if wrong.. but neways, your choice in the end because none of us are shelling out the $$.

jackson racing isn't jackson racing anymore? wtf? so if something breaks on the S/C, i won't be able to get it replaced or fixed under a JR warranty or anything?

well what about ENDYN? i read on the website over a year ago that his S/C's were 'a few weeks away from release'...but i haven't heard anything since. true, not true? anybody got the facts? it seems like his website is never updated or something.

no, they can do certain things. but they have to go through moss motorsports, and so do you. kinda sucks.
ohh yea, btw. ... i guess the kid that wrote the article said that JR showed him Dyno Tunings of cars and all the cars didn't even come close to the HP and Torque that was advertised. someone has to find the article, it's gotta be on this board.

The JRSC still carries a valid 100k mile warranty... how do you figure they are gonna not support their product? Just b/c now they are set up more like Mugen & King Motorsports, it's still JR. As far as Endyn..... I think we have all heard enough about all their supposed products. They, I mean "he", has some great products, but the SC he talked about isn't happening.
The Vortech's power isn't at it's potential until redline.... the JRSC puts out functional power.

Was this person who couldn't get warranty service the original purchaser? I had no problem getting warranty service from Jackson/Moss after producing my bill of sale from an authorized dealer. I know of several others who have also had no problem obtaining warranty replacements.

Jackson Racing is a shop in CA. Theyre name is on the charger.

Moss Motors is the manufacturer of the SC kits. Thats the difference between them. That is the way its always been.
