hmm, you painted over the chrome finish, how will the paint stick to it, and wont it start to melt off or leave a streaky pattern? paint will bond much better on a rough surface since the pores of the material will hold the paint, and by painting over a flat smooth surface like that itll mess up?...correct me if im wrong unless you put primer on top or something?

i primered over the chrome, then painted, then clear. no sanding.

no problems, ~5 months later.

I also painted over the chrome. I didn't even use primer, but I did use an oven to bake the paint (High Heat Enamel).

i just primer'd and painted over the stock, and have been running them for about a year now, without any problems.

I'm thinking of re-painting mine, because I want to make the chrome sections gunmetal (mainly because I accidentally oversprayed a tiny bit). But, we'll see if my schedule allows it.

I didn't sand or use primer, been about 2 years and still the same. It's up to you of course.
