Default Who can do digital measuring?

I have a couple of custom flanges that I need reproduced, or more specifically, I need CAD files made for them. I know there are digital measuring systems out there, with the arm that measures dimensions, but does someone know of a company with one who I can send a part to, and can in turn send me back a CAD file? local to SoCal would be best, but I just dont know what to look under in the yellow pages.

try calling some of your local metal fab shops that run cnc machines, but be prepared to pay for the time

they could be, but I'm not looking to have to fiddle with the cad files, I want a model that I know will be accurate.

what you need to do is find a person who runs a CMM, it's a computer-based system with an arm attached to it to measure a specific location and will give you the dimensions. But why not just bring the flange to a shop let them do it?

Yes, the CMM is what I was thinking of. I have access to the use of a CNC plasma, so I just need the CAD.

Anyone on here with access to the CMM able to do it for me? price?

I think he just needs the measurement and make the flange himself.<TABLE WIDTH="90%" CELLSPACING=0 CELLPADDING=0 ALIGN=CENTER><TR><TD>Quote, originally posted by wantboost &raquo;</TD></TR><TR><TD CLASS="quote">

i know, but we charge based on the number of measurements we have to do, digitizing one flange is gonna cost less than 2.
