Default Injen CAI install question.

Ok, so I am halfway into my CAI install and am at a confusing part. I have everything dismantled and the old airbox/piping all gone. I'm to the point of installing the actual CAI pipe. Question is, HOW? The install sheet just says "Put it in." Wow, thanks geniouses! The problem is, do you install it by going down into the bumper area or from the bumper up? I have tried both and nothing seems to be working. There's always something in the way. So I try to move it and still nothing. The metal holder that holds the battery is in my way but I removed the two bolts on it and it still won't come out. Injen said remove the battery, but nothing about removing the bottom plate. So can someone who has installed this help???

Put it in throught the bumper area and undo the plastic pieces around the hole. And u don't have to cut it, just undo the clip inside the wheel well behind the tire and the clips under the bumper , it'll be a lil hard to clip them back on and there will be a bulge but it'll work and it beats cuttin a hole.

Oh and btw the sheet doesn't say just put it in, it says to actually put it throught he bumper. Unless u got different instructions, mine had detailed information, atleats enough to put it it. Well i am pretty mechanicallly inclined since i've been a mechanic for 3 years now.

I got it figured out. Had to take out the battery tray which was causing most of the problems. I'd say, with my limited knowledge, tools, room (single car garage), time... I got it done in about 2 hours start to finish. I could not be happier!!! Love the way it sounds. I had an SRI in an older civic and a CAI on my last car. I was way more pleased with the CAI over the SRI.

Black06si... just put it on!!! Trust me!!!

yeah, you gotta take out the tray for the install to work with the CAI. It took me a while but if you just look at it and thing, it will come to you. took me a good 4 hours and alot of thinking..but it is definitley worth the struggle.

oh past CAI installs
i usually wrap foam with a zip tie around the tube where it enters the bumper through the engine bay
to prevent scratches...and higher resale

That's a good idea.

I put duct tape on the only metal peice by the fender well to prevent rubbing when I installed the piping.

My car had a horrible idle, really low and the car would rock and my CAI hit the side of the opening to the bumper and i was scared thinkin i had a ******* knock lol...Put some carpet padding right along the edge and it fixed it till i had time to get the SOB iacv off.

In this scenario, you just need to cut the fender well a little more to fix the intake.

Refuses to cut anything to make an intake fit here some people have some havent they should have used better R&D before releasing it so it wouldn't rub !

I've installed 2 of them

no cutting required.
