how do u do that thing where hood is slightly lifted up to allow the hot air to escape

washers between the hood and hinge, or you can close you hood on a wrench(accidentaly leave it on the hinge) and it wil do the same thing

Or if you don't want the reverse cowl look you can remove the rubber stripping at the cowl and that will help too.

It will "help" by lowering under-hood temperatures if you're having heat issues, such as with high-power boost applications and a crowded engine bay. If you're not having such problems, it will just make your vehicle look retarded.

I am pretty sure that your vehicle will not benefit from it in any way.

The engine bay is already open from the bottom, and water can already run in through the body seams. That's why there is a drainage system. You're not taking the hood off, just raising up the rear and making it look like it is bent and/or doesn't fit.
