ring gears hate me!!!!!
I dont know what it is, ive been preloading every pass, and i MEAN preloading it to alll hell, launching at about 15psi on 24.5's it gets low 1.7x 60's and keeps stripping the ring gear! the funny part is this is all on stock axles!!!! WTF you would think they would break instead.
I wanna know, if anyone knows a possible root cause for this? i think i would feel a good wheel hop but feels nice and clean, broke two races in a row, one on the launch (did not break the beams) and the other in first and still made it down the track
, oh yeah stock ring and pinion
darren

deffinitely going to look into this, just wondering how the other "stock ring gear guys" are holding up for how long, and their failure percentage

are you shiming your differential properly? which bearings are you using for you diff, tapered roller type/ or ball bearings.
if there is too much clearence there will be lateral play and will usually strip the final drive/pinion gear teeth right off...if too tight of a clearence you will usually crack the bearings in half/case damage. I have learned this the hard way.

Thats odd, I ran 2 seasons on a stock ring and pinion, 26" slicks, 7000rpm launches at about 10psi with no breakages!!!
What clutch setup do you run???
FYI, I did run a H-series, but I wouldn't think they are much stronger.
