first you need to figure out do you want an ap1 or ap2

then according to your budget, get the newest year you can find

if you type in the word "year" in the search function and do archived, it will list numerous posts about which year is best, and differences......

go to s2ki.com

stay away from 00-01 they have plastic rear windows and they turn yellow/brown, other than that,

ap1 2.0 liter 9kredling 16''s vs ap2 2.2 8k redline 17''s

for under 20 you wont find a ap2, it might even be hard to find a "clean" well taken care of low milage ap1.

yea i read some reviews and decided on an 02-04.
I found several for under 20 that were realy clean and stock with around 40-50K on them thats not that bad.

Just understand that when you say you are interested in a 02-04 that the 02/03 and the 04 are different cars for various reasons.

sure can. If you're in norcal, there are a few 01-02's with less than 25k miles under $20k on craigslist. Just make sure the top is in good condition and the plastic window is clear

I like your thinking....'00 or '01 with a glass rear window conversion.

its all about if you want 9000rpm or 8000rpm. I enjoy the AP1 but the style of the AP2 body and glass rear window is nice but you can always change the body.
