Hot STI , bad swirl marks
The unfortunate part: buffing/polishing will probably take off the entire clear coat, lol. Subaru paint is the absolute ******* WORST. When you see a hail storm, park under it.
BTW: the sti is smokin hottttttt

look at b u n m a n g o's how to thread in the stickied thread above. He detailed my car (old black accord) after I decided to wash it with one of those big brushes at a DIY car wash place. The whole car was scratched to hell, much worse than your typical swirl. when he was done, it looks nearly new
Basically
-wash (perhaps twice)
-clay bar
-DACP with porter cable
-polish
-seal
It took quite awhile even with a porter cable and cyclo buffer that he had. Its all about having the right products and cutting pads, he details everyhting you need in his thread

I have a '91 integra, and when I got it, it had bad swirl marks, marring, and oxidation.
I buffed it out with my porter cable with a Pinnacle wax system, and needless to say, it looks like it just rolled off the showroom floor. I swear, someone blessed this milano red car when it left the factory. OG paint.
(omg I sound like Rob, lol!! )

I run 9" rims with a +38 offset, theres a lot of rubber showing, and the flaps help with that a lot.
look at the front of the rear tire exposed in this pic
This car isnt a show car or anything, it gets driven hard year round, rain or shine, snow, mud, etc. A few auto-x cones have chanked off it as well.
It is getting detailed next spring, hardcore.
And obviously it looks a lot worse when night pics are taken of a black car.

Find someone with a DA polisher and some good pads and product and go to town on it.
If you use the correct products you will not destroy the clearcoat. An oribital polisher in inexperienced hands can do more damage than good though which is why I recommend a Dual Action polisher like the Porter Cable.

nice sti, but don't listen to anything these guys are saying about the paint. it's fine you have swirls because it was probably wax in the sun.
just do a wash, dry it, park it in the garage or under a shady tree. let the paint cool down (from being under the sun). then do a nice wax the polish, and all your swirly trouble will go away!
