Default Test drives: 06 Si

For those of you who own one, or test drove one, Was the dealer **** about letting you test drive it? I went today to FINALLY test one since one was sitting on the lot and not sold right away or on order (finally) and he was like "oh umm uhh well we're trying to keep the miles low.. And the manager.. blah blah "
So no, I didnt get to.. Today. (Im going back tomorrow )
The car is Used and has 9,500 miles on it.

Im just curious to know your experiences.

Test drove it, no problem. He said he liked being able to go into the ivtec, and that he was totally fine with me taking it there

I actually had a very hard time getting the dealership to let me test drive one of the Si on the lot. I basically had to tell the two sales guys (I have no clue why they were tag teaming, must have been training) that I wanted a car, and I really wanted the Si; You don't let me drive, I don't let you have my money.

Even after that, they wouldn't let me take it too far, and I kept it under 40. But I was sold on it after getting in the drivers seat.

They should have let you test drive the used one...that's BS. I couldn't drive one at my dealer since they were all pre sold (I wouldn't want anyone driving my car either) The other dealers in town wanted over MSRP so I never even got past the phone conversation with them.

Yea thinking back I probably could have talked him into it yesterday but my mind sort of went blank as he crushed my hopes and dreams.

Not sure if I'll go back today, got some stuff to do. Supposed to rain tomorrow, so Maybe thursday? I mean, heck I'm only takling about putting like maybe 2 miles on the thing. I just want to get a feel for it. I've been following this thing since it was just rumors on the web, and now I have a chance to drive one? Yea. I'm going to bug them till I do.
This might be my ONLY chance since production is limited and they seem to fly out the door or are already ordered.

Asked about driving an STI once and I got the same thing. But they also wanted a credit check (mine is good btw) But That would have just been a joy ride so I didnt push it. That one is a little more understandable though since anyone who knows anything about it would probably want to drive it.

Yea the dealer I bought my Si wasn't letting people test them either. Mine only had 7 miles on it when I took it off the lot. I can understand both sides of the coin. I wanted it so bad I didn't care.

That Sucks.. When I bought mine, I didn't even know what VTEC was.. But I was amazing.. with its power..
The salesman came, gave me the key.. And I said: I don't drive manual trans cars for a while.. and he replied: its going to be fun..... lol
I hope you like it.. Ops.. I'm sure you'll
Ps: used to drive a Corolla

I went there , it was 8 and the dealer closed at 9. I know the dealer, hes like you want to take it for a spin ? I stuck out my hand which he then placed the keys inside. The dealer was like " I gotta go take care of something, be carefull......" Got in, did a couple rounds, came back with a smile and said rap it up, ill take it.

The first one I found, they wouldnt let me test drive it, but they let me crank her up. The sound of it was enough to sell me a car that already captured my interest just by features alone. Unfortunately for them, it wasn't their car that I bought haha.

What was really funny is with all that protection on the car, and the sales guy looked nervous when I was revving it up, before I got out I noticed that they didn't even have the e-brake set... couldn't help but wonder how it didn't roll off into another car... 0 miles and already an accident, Honda would've loved that one.

I told the dealer not to let anyone test drive my Si when i bought it. They said they had about 10 people that asked to test drive it in the 3 days i left it there. and they said "No" to everyone of them. but it wasn't used. this was when it was brand new. I wouldn't take no for an answer on a used one.

I could understand a new one, because they dont want people VTECing a new car that they might not buy, its like conserving the break in for who buys it.. but used is free for all.
