I got a 2000 prelude with 130,000 KMS. I took my head off cause i bent a bunch of valves, anyways i am getting that all fixed up now, i was wondering if you can re-use headstuds on the h22a4 motor?

i thought it had something to do with them being aluminum heads and the studs were stretch to torque bolts?
anyone?

I was told by quite a few experienced people to just get new ones, so thats what I always do.

Get some ARP or AEBS head studs and you will not have to worry about anything.

I just got my AEBS head studs shipped for $120 from exospeed.

Ya I would try to replace the headbolts along with the gasket ofcourse.

By theory of bolt stretch, you are NOT supposed to re-use OEM studs. The helms manual also states that re-using the studs is a no-no. Some people do and get away with it... but I wouldn't chance it.

ARP's are a measly 140 bucks and are re-useable.
