Default Problem with JK traction bars

Dear HT,

Heres my life story. I bought a nice set of JK motorsports's traction bars/crossmember. After building my B16, the driver's side rod balljoint snapped. 2,000 miles later the bolt and nut on the passenger side broke and threw my car to the right at 25 mph. Now its dragging on the ground; I would replace it, but it seems as if theres 2 to 3 inches or more of missing clearance.

Does anyone know the bolt size offhand? Should I invest in Full Race's set?

edit: Forgot to say if this seems a little indescriptive, pictures are comming when I get home.

need pics and details, like what were you doing with the car how long was this 2000 miles etc.

2,000 daily driven miles, not all in one shot. It was mostly easy driving. When the bolt broke, I was approaching a stop sign to turn left.

I've had mostly street and strip intentions for this car. I've put Tokico illuminas and Skunk2 coilovers. Its an 11.5:1 compression motor with aftermarket cams.

You can see the missing clearance issue in the first picture. Theres where the bolt used to fasten the rod. The second pic shows how it hangs.

he has sold a ton of these and this is the first problem I have heard of, He rocks a set on his ef with big slicks and I dought you are that hard on yours. Have you contacted him for help before you drug his name through the mud? He's a good guy and I bet you have done something wrong with your setup or something to that nature. Good luck.

drSquish you have been contacted Privately.

Yes we have redesigned and are now using a 2 bolt setup. Yes personally I have ran single bolt setups in the past, launching on slickes, but with being the one who designed and built them, I know how much to torque the single bolt setups and how much not too.

Update: I was misinformed that JK went out of buisness; hence my negative attitude.

I quote "If you would like send me your address and I will get new bolts, brackets and Heims out to you." - JK

This is the customer service many companies don't have.

I like when people from companies step up and do what is right.

Well done JK.

If everything goes well with the new brackets, I have a friend about to buy a new crossmember who would be interested. Thanks again for the support.
