Default Help With Transmission

OK so i put a new clutch in my car and it drove fine for like 10 miles and then when i got to where i was goin i turned the car off and when i came back out it started right up but would not go in gear so i got it towed home and took the tranny back out and put everything back in thats stock except the acctual clutch disc and it still does the same thing it is a jdm d15b with a cable si tranny any ideas on what could be causeing this?

also when i put it in gear and start it it doesnt jump and will drive in that gear but when i try to pull to the next gear wit grinds or wont go in

another thing is the car would go into gear when it was on jackstands all gears except reverse would grind anyone have any ideas on what it could be???

Sounds like you're not fully disengaging your clutch. You have to clutch adjusted properly? What oil did you use in your tranny?

the clutch is disengaging because when i start it in a gear i can drive it in that gear u can feel it engage and i used lucas gear oil witch i think might be the problem

ok when i put the car in gear then start it i can drive the car in that gear but im not able to pull to the next gear it does not jump or anything when started either so thats how i know the clutch is disengaged

i mean it does not jump when the car is in gear and i start it and when i had it up on jackstands it would go into gear now that its back on the ground it wont

so when the car is not running you can switch inbetween gears?

its not the oil you used its the cable its not adjusted right

i read something bout it might be the clutch petal bracket it could be the cable to i have adjusted it but it might not be right any other ideas that it could be

yea but if it was the cable would the clutch not disengage at all because it disengages just fine because when i start the car when its in a gear it does not jump if it was the cable and the clutch didnt disengage it would jump

Honda transmissions do not use GEAR OIL. It will burn up the gears as it is too thick. Drain that out and use OEM HONDA MTF. We have a pallet of transmissions that are burned up internally from people using the wrong fluid.

thanks man i had no idea that i couldnt use oil appritiate the advise i did not drive wit it long will drain and use honda MTF

Good luck Its common for people to use gear oil...yes it will work...but, only a matter of time before you start to have problems Honda MTF is the best way to go and the most fail safe
