I have a 89 DX hatch. My car shakes everytime i shift, and it feels like its going to stall-out/die. The same situation sometimes happens when i accelerate. Has anyone encountered this problem? thanks.

Could possibly be from the Idle Air Control Valve (IACV). Clean your throttle body with some spray. That might solve your problem.

start by the basics and replace parts such as the fuel filter. my car was like that. exept it was not my iacv. it was my fuel filter that was full of crap. check your fuel preassure to see it its correct to determine if its ur fuel preasure regulator thats running ur motor to rich. or ur fuel filter that is starving ur motor
