Has anyone heard from any of our Hawaiian friends since the quake?

This is not only an internet forum, but a community. Some people actually care about others. Several friends have been made worldwide through forums like these and the events that the members participate in (ITR expo among several).
I have never personally met any of the Hawaiian guys, buy hope they are safe and well just the same.

This relates to us because there are at least 4 ITRs (were about 7) on the Big Island where the epicenter was located. I'm pretty sure they are all safe.

We are all ok and I am speaking for all of our Hawaiian members. Thanks for your concern.

Maybe waiting for Lucky-R and Haleiwa-Brando to chime in. Not too sure if all the power on Oahu was restored yet.

I saw this on the news last night. Hope everyone is OK. 6.1 on the scale I believe . That seems rather large.

Anyone heard from Brando?

sup folks..as far as i know, NO DEATHS in hawaii. injuries not sure...but in all my 30 years in hawaii, ive never experienced an earthquake so it was SCARY SH*T!. worst part is it happened so early on a sunday morning, 7 am, most folks like myself abruptly awoke to the shaking . i sleep like a log and it was as if someone was shaking my bed so hard, i sat straight up! a quake here is RARE, and our main concerns are hurricanes and tsunamis. but thankfully no tsunami was generated. electricity was down for 24 hours though so glad to be back online and report no deaths

oh...i think its safe to say all hawaiian ITRs are safe

Where else would an ITR owner be? At the auto-x of course.

We were standing under a tent sheltering us from the rain when we felt the quake. The light poles at the parking lot were oscillating quite a bit. The tremor was significant enough to feel and lasted about 15 seconds according to the news. It felt more like 30 seconds.

They shut down the electricity for the whole island and we got restored in the middle of the night. That was pretty BS as the Civil Defense was totally unprepared for this event. When I was in Seattle for the 2/02 quake of similar magnitude we didn't lose power and get a Civil Defense response 3 HOURS after the quake!

Oh btw, Reid was also in attendance.

Hawaii is a tourist attraction so it should be back up in no time, as apposed to lousiana after Katrina.

I've been running errands and catching up on sleep the past few days.

I wasn't even able to get any sleep the night before autocross.
