cleaning 02 sensor
You might have some luck cooking it with a propane torch if it's only carbon or burned oil deposites. If it's contaminated by the silicates in the coolant, not so good.
yeah its just got a lot of carbon buildup on it...dont know if a torch is gonna get rid of it...maybe go at it lightly with sum 400 grit sandpaper?
I wopuld not suggest cleaning it. it will get residue on it and make it run wierd for a while. or uniss the buildup starts baxck up again. a new o2 sensor is only about 18 dollars so just replace it and you dont have to deal with the hassle of it coming up with a code later on.
but I guess if you really wanted to I would use a clean towel and some of that electronic parts cleaner. that stuff doesnt leave alot of resedue and works fairly good.
Just buy a new one. I bought a bosch one for 28$ today to replace the one in my car. Actually was kinda funny there wasno sensor left. My old blown engine musta took it out.

the residue will make it run weird? what in the world are you talking about?
just blow off anything left over with compressed air and the exhaust gas will take care of the rest...
can anyone give me a positive answer?

yeah i had a bosch before, and i never had any problems...but my buddy was doing a street tune on the car saturday night and i guess i left the o2 dangling too low and it got ripped off when we were going around the block...
i still have the two stock o2 sensors, but they have a lot of carbon buildup on em....so yeah im gonna try going at em with some red scuff and see what happens...im just broke right now and buying a new one is not an option...
what would happen if i gave it a quick blast of brake cleaner?

Well, you could google for information and decide if the information is valid or not, just like advice on these forums.
I did a brief search and found these in no particular order...
Clean it with a propane torch
Disconnect the sensor and create a lean condition on a warm engine by removing a vacuum line and run at 2000 rpm for 2 minutes.
And.. Never clean the sensor with solvents. Contamination will ruin the sensor.
