Default ummm...whats this all about?

ok my friend wayne had these coilovers laying in his garage for a while now, apparently his friend with a 96 teg got new suspension for his car and gave these to him.wayne sold his car and has no use for these so he offered to sell them to me for cheap,my question is why are they cut in this area?i want to know if these are even safe to put on my car before i just give him money for them.any info would be awesome.

they were cut because the bolt going through there seized inside the LCA bushing - oftentimes the only way to get the shock off the car is to cut through the fork, as the previuos owner did. Unless you plan on welding the piece back on, or an entire replacement (which I recommend against), those are useless shocks.

Screw the seized lca problem! I had to cut the nut off my koni yellow then cut the bolt out and replace my lca! From a 15 minute install to 5+ hrs!

ok so ive been thinking about this for a couple days.....should i just buy the front ones since they are fine and are not cut, order new rear ones and use the springs off the cut ones?and if i do keep the fronts and buy new rears, what slip-on coilovers will work well with these shocks?eventually i want to be able to adjust ride height.let me know your opinions, thanks

So long as you are certain that the fronts are in good working order, there's no reason why you can't just replace the rears.
