pretty self explanatory. after doing swap clutch wouldn't work. i have put in a new clutch kit including throwout bearing, pilot bearing, etc. still doesnt disengage. clutch arm moves up and down completely so cable adj. doesn't have anything to do with the problem. any ideas?

the clutch switch. located inside the cab or the car. look at the actual petal, follow it up. when you press it, the petal pushes a button or switch. see if its working propperly, if not, you can replace the switch or cut the wires from the switch and put them together.

no factory 91 dx cable. i don't think it has anything to do with the cable because i tried operating it with my hand and it still does not disengage the clutch. it feels very light as if its not engaging the pressure plate. i am 99.9% positive i installed the throwout bearing correctly but thats what my guess would be or the actual mechanism that pushes the throwout bearing in and out. I haven't worked on any cable trannys before so could the cable arm be stripped out or bent.

Have you tightend the cable as much as possible? It may have stretched the first time you tried to use it. Are you running stiffer pressure plate?

Hopefully it's not the bearing, it sucks dropping the tranny for something like that

When doing my swap I had my cable adjustment loosened all the way then after about 750 miles *SNAP* the adjuster began to work. Try messing around with the adjustment screw and it should work. The pedal feel will be way at the top initially then, on that great day, it will work as it should.

do you rember fi the clutch was facing the right way?
i have seen this one guy get in a rush and put the dish in backwards... one side stands out a little with the springs and stuff.. well that is the tranny side...he had it on the flywheel side and i guess it was hitting the bolts and was locked up... maybe something you want to try and rember if you did right or not.

I believe the problem is in the cable adjustment after looking at a different transmission i have noticed it has about twice as much travel as the one in the car. although i have tried operating the clutch just with my hand it probably takes alot more pressure to disengage the pressure plate. any way i will try taking all the slack out of the cable tonight and will update. thanks

did you replace the spring when you replaced the TOB? i had a problem like you are saying before and it was the spring from the TOB it was old and wouldnt let the clutch disengauge

if the clutch pedal adjustment doesnt work i would go into the clutch itsself

then you are prolly either too tight or too loose

try to adjust it and see if that fixes your problem
