AFTERMARKET LOCKING NUTS... HELP
heres the problem... bought a parts car, and all suspension and brake components as well as exhaust was not even a year old... it also came with 5 stars on it
now the problem is i didnt get a lock nut key with the car and the wheels... i took the front end apart, disconected the lower and upper control arms and what not and pulled everything off... i needed a caliper so i tried grinding the locking nut right down the middle... it worked except for a small chunk of metal that fused to the wheel and stud bolt
i ended up cutting each spoke on the wheel
now i want to preserve the rear hubs and rotors to do a rear brake swap on my 88
anyone suggest any ways to get these locking nuts off??
iv heard to weld a bolt to the nut and back it off... but do not have access to any welding equipment
iv also tried smashing a socket over it and also no luck
help would be appreciated

mcgard... canadian tire specials lol... i tried this lug nut remover, backwards threaded impact.. and all it did was slip.. so i guess there forged metal?
iv looked for master sets, and their near impossible to find for these aftermarket lock nuts
i also went back into canadian tire with a drawing and tried buying a set that looked like the key i needed

the one thng i was worried about was gettin the lock out of the sockett... i was just gonna use a vice and maybe the torch

like i sad i cut right down the middle with the grinder of the one and stopped right before the stud... its hollow inside and was able to use a flat head punch and a hammer to break it away.. leaving a smal smal chunk that later after grinding some more, fused to the wheel and stud...
anyone try a different approach... i dont mind the labour on it.. id rather work at it longer to save the bucks on buying an impact socket and borrings the gun, and worry about it not working either.. iv already bought the impact lugnut remover for mangled lug nuts, and its useless to me really

try it TRUST IT WILL WORK i do it about 10x a day.. and if your scared go to a tire shop they have special sockets to get it off. 21 or 20mm i cant remember but try one of those that fit snugged. its very easy man.

to get the lock off the IMPACT 21mm socket all you do is bang the hell out of it VERY EASY trust me.
make sure its an impact because like you said it fucked up the other one becasue it wasnt impact. impact sockets are ment to take beaten there very strong.
