i was driving around and getting a ticking sound from under my dash when i went over bumps

went under the dash to see what was going on, a spring from my brake assembly was just hanging there

there is a similar spring set up on my gas pedal it connects something on the gas pedal to another part of the gas pedal


i tried to put the disconnected end of the spring back on but couldnt stretch it enough.


any negative effects?

It pulls the pedal back towards the driver so as to not let its natural weight put pressure on the master cylinder / brake booster assy and apply the brakes all the time, very lightly of course and you may not even know it, get it back into place or change it, it may be stretched out, how else would it come off.

i just had a auto-manual swap. the guy did a poor job all around, this probly ads to his list of half *** put back togethers
