clutch disk question
just put in my new clutch and now my car wont shift because my clutch stays engaged.
My question is, does the clutch have a side that it goes into? A clutch has a side that is thicker (not the material, the center) than the other. Is this "thicker" side supposed to be facing the engine or the tranny?
Please help....im so bummed out.
Thank you

The part that has the "thicker" plating for the springs goes to the pressure plate and the flat part to the flywheel. I find it really hard to put a clutch on backwards and still be able to install everything. HAve you tried bleeding the clutch?
the fork was fine when i took it out. The throw-out bearing is brand new and matched the old one perfectly. I greased everything good. The slave is really tight on the release fork......just doesnt add up. Im thinking the release bearing came off the fork when we tried to wiggle the transmission on. Could the release bearing not being on the fork make the clutch stay in the engaged position?
