write-up request - Throwout, pilot, and input shaft bearing replacement
Does anyone have a writeup to replace the throwout bearing on a H22a, the input shaft bearing, and pilot bearing.
When I start off in first the car chatters, untill i give it a whole bunch more gas. the only way to remedy this is to blip the throttle before i take my foot off the clutch. this chattering also happens when i am decelerating in first coming to a stop. its not smooth as it should be. I initially thought that it could be my fuel pump failing and not doing its job but i have been told by my mechanic and after reading around on some forums i have come to the conclusion it could be one of the 3 bearings i mentioned above. some other symptoms, sometimes the car wont go into first gear, its as if there is something in the gearbox/transmission stopping it from going in, but once i take my foot off of the clutch and try again it goes right in.
i originally thought all of this was due to a bad fuel pump b/c when i cold start the car the first time that day it wont fire right up unless i let the fuel pump prime a few times by turning the key to on, then off, then on again. it will turn over a few times, chatter then start up. however on subsequent starts it fires right up. this could be a different problem all together.
I recently had a new clutch/flywheel put in the car, oem parts by my mechanic. i trust that he did a good job putting it in, thats why i think it is one of those bearings that i know he did not replace. any help would be appreciated. how big of a job does this all sound like? thanks guys.

Take the tranny off. Then it should be easy. There is a write up somewhere on this board but I searched and could not fine it.
