TB coolant bypass idle issue
I did it today but left the FITV alone and just looped the lines on the IACV and block and I had horrible idle issues which became even worse with a load on the engine. This is after the engine was warm. Has anyone else done this on the H22 ?
if the car stumbles under load its gotta be a vacuum leak. if the idle is just fluctuating, play with the idle adjustment screw...i had that problem and turning the screw in a bit helped the surging at idle when warm

my car idles perfectly
Coolant looped at the thermo. IACV looped. FITV plugged.</TD></TR></TABLE>
Nope. What did u plug them with ? Is there anyway to just eliminate it and run a plate under the TB ? Or because of the sensor there will it trip a CEL ?

sorry to theard jack, but side question. isnt the line coming out of the thrmo housing where you will find the coolest water? since its coming directly from the rad.

That coolant is actually coming up the water pipe from the water pump...

I did this the other day and had idle problems. so I just put everything back to normal. and I did loop all the plugs and I did plug up the FITV. but who knows. I know I did it right
I did the coolant bypass a few months back and things were fine, but now I have some pretty bad idle issues. Damn, I wish I remembered how everything was done so I can reverse this
Well i dont think there is any air in the system. And i looped the line from the TB to the FITV, IAVC to itself and block to thermo and had major idle issues. But i didnt plug the FITV i just ran a hose from the TB to the FITV.
OK, its time to start putting your finger over air holes to troubleshoot, pull the air induction hose off of the throttle body and cover one air bleed hole at a time, I think there are two. Also take the cover off of the wax pellet where you could use a screwdriver to adjust it closed and cover that with a rag to see if the idle cures itself.
If the idle cleans up when you block off one of these three air bleeds then you have found your problem. It is possible to have a vacuum leak or the throttle body plate be open too far.
There are other possiblities also.
