Tein,d2,tunabe, buddy club complete coilovers
Well its that time again... payday i got 1950 to spend... and should i get a set of tein tanabe or d2's Buddy club any one with any of these 4 please chime in, or something completely different
Admins should create an official thread to this topic, i honestly think this is one topic i keep seeing over and over. Which coilovers are better than some other coilovers. An official thread should just be created. just my 2 cents. Sorry about this comment just thought its a good place to leave it
Tanabe- I've heard that Tanabe USA ain't that great. I don't know anyone on this forum that uses them.
D2- I've heard mixed reviews on them.
Tein- Get the Type FLEX coilovers. Anything below that isn't worth it.
A few recommendations:
GC/Koni- Proven combination.
Function Form- Heard nothing but good about them.

Grould Control and Koni Yellows. Proven combination and affordable.
Besides, you don't have to blow your cash all at once. You can spend the rest on something else.

Check out the Sponsor's Marketplace. You can probably get a good deal on the Koni Yellows. For the Ground Controls, buy direct from Ground Control.

Its cool man, nobody is trying to insult you. Personally I would actually trash all those choices and do what I did after much research and buy koni yellows with ground control coilover sleeves. Much better all around. I was very close to buying tein flex's but got the konis and gc's for 400 cheaper and its a much more track worthy setup!

i'm gc/yellowed.
its great. if you look at the suspension thread stickie. there is a thread about how awesome koni's are compared with other shocks (jic, buddy club, kyb, tein, etc)
heck, you can even get custom revalved yellows with custom ground control springs from honda tech. thats because stock rates aren't that great

sorry if i sounded like i took offense to it .. i didnt... i cant wait to get my car back on the road that crash sucked
it all depends on how you drive.
but i can understand wanting some overall suggestion to start off with.
i have 450/450 lbs and its a little stiff. those are almost the limit to which the koni's can handle w/o a revalve. you can run a bit more but its just better to get a revalve with higher rates.
most ppl will also suggest something staggered. e.g 400/350 or 450/350.
with stiffer springs in the back, the rear will tend to "slide" out more (not drifting either). you can keep the stock front rate and just upgrade the rears (385/285 i think OTS rates for gc)

hondatech? i dunno, i got mine local. a brand new set will set you back just a bit. 500ish for new koni's / 300ish for new gc's (maybe add a little for custom springs)
and you won't need a camber kit unless you get like the neuspeed koni's (i have these) on the lowest perch (which isn't really suggested)
unless you want to slam your car, you won't need a camber kit

Koni Yellows and Gc. Many SCCA race teams use this set up.
Most other JDM low budget suspensions are just that. So unless you plan to shell out 1500 or so for a Good JDM suspension dont bother with the cheaper stuff
