Geniune Fluids only for 96 Honda Accord EX?
The manual states that use only geniune Honda power steering fluid or brake fluid when refilling those parts. Is that really necessary or will generic brands out there do just fine?
i dont know about the break fluid but if you go to a auto parts store they might have power steering fluid for honda. i have seen it. break fluid you should use honda fluid because it dose corrode. you should also by genuine honda 50/50 or prestones dont buy any other ****
Would I use anthing other than Honda OEM?
Transmission? : NOT A CHANCE
PS fluid? : NOT A CHANCE
Coolant? : Sure as long as it meets specs
Brake fluid? : Sure as long as it was a quality name brand that meets the specs

My friend warns me not to add the brake fluid to the max if it falls below because even a very tiny piece of dust in there will cause a lot of problem. Do you agree?
I am going to buy geniune fluids from Ebay today.

to add. when you refill your brake or power steering, do you have to flush it or just pore it in. I jus pore it in, just wana know if i did it right. I always used honda powersteering and honda brake fluid because it says it on the cap to use only honda genuine fluids.
Good question. So do you just pore the fluid in to fill it back to the max level? Or should flush it first before poring anything in?
Where can I find geniune honda fluids if not on Ebay?

All the fluids I use on my car are Honda fluids. Why, because they're good products. In the past Ive tried several other brands on almost every area and Honda seems to have the same or better quality than those aftermarket ones.
Plus, you dont want to take the chances of messing w/ your tranny for using synchromesh (sp?) or Royal Purple, products that ppl think are reall good stuff but are not designed specially for honda's.
I use Honda products on all the following: P/S fluid, Brake fluid, and Tranny fluid, Coolant. For motor oil I use Mobil 1.
