hey guys from honda tech...well let me give you some in for before i brake down in questions...well i did the mini-me swap(d16y8 head and I/M & TB on a d16y7 block) in my 97 ek...and after connecting everything back up i fired it up and it runs like ****.. when its starts it idles really ruff... ohh forgot and it has a skunk2 cam gear.......and if i open the trottle it takes a while for the revs to go up..and when i release the throttle it bogs and sometimes, mostimes dies..i believe its running rich since u smell gas and the exhuast is black....what is a knock sensor ...do i need that im my mini me sohc setup...the only cel its throwing is P01259 and P0453... vtec malfunction and fuel tank pressure sensor...but wouldnt the car still run without vtec..i think maybe the wirng is off...but anyhow any help would be more than HIGHLY APPRICIATED...thanks guys and honda tech

 

sounds like your off a tooth on your cam timing.

 

im also doing a mini me swap but witha z6 head.. im reusing the timing belt on my z6 not shure how that guna work out but i hear with y7 u can reuse the camgear and the belt. You shure that you have the right timing belt n everythinG?

thanks guys thats exactly what it was...cause the adjustable cam gear through me off..it was one tooth off....

But now i have another probelm.....theres a loud tapping..i thought it was the valve lash, so i did a valve adjustment....stilll very loud...the tap isnt that loud at idle but when i give it gas i get super loud...any help would be great thank for your help guys
