PROBLEMS AFTER MINI-ME SWAP...PLEASE HELP!!!!!!
hi im new to this website as a member..but ie been using it for months and the advise you guys give is the best... wondering if you guys who live and breath honda can help me out..
ok so heres the problem. About a month ago i did the mini-me swap. d16y8 head and manifold on the d16y7 block.. and after a couple of problems fixed the car starts.... so to get the car started i have to hAVEto push the pedal all the way down or the throttle all the way open to get it started or it will just crank for ever and not start.. So as soon as it starts it runs like crap. the motor shakes and the car runs rich you can smell and also see the black in the muffler...and i cant rev very high..which bring me to my next problem..VTEC...i wired vtec and i keep getting the codeP01259 Vtec malfunction. im guessing thats why my revs are down..but any help to fix these problems would be more than highly appriceated...thankd guys and honda tech....

thanks for replying to my post..i checked the ignition timing and messed with it a bunch of times..how do i check and adjust the cam timing....ohh and when i open the throttle it doesnt do really anything except like barley raise the rpm's and as soon as i close it ..it boggs and sometimes most times dies...please help...i neeed to drive my car again..thanks

ohh sorry forgot something...i know good amount on cars..but what is the knock sensor..what is it for...doi have that or need that in my mini me swap ...if so where is it located so i can see if thats the problems thanks guys ....really really really appriciate it

limp mode is something your car goes into when there is something that is going wrong that may ruin your engine. It keeps the revs under a certain limit, something like 6 grand maybe, and runs the car rich, so nothing bad happens. Not sure if that is what is happening with you, but def. sounds like timing

i figured it out you guys were right..i was one tooth off.the skunk2 adjustable cam gear through me off... well thanks guys
BUT I HAVE ANOTHER PROBLEM!!!!
theres a very loud tapping coming from the head.....i thought it was the valve lash, so i did a valve adjustment..still taps...at idle its not very loud,,,, but when i give its gas it gets hella super loud...tap,tap,tap,tap,tap,tap..etc...really fast...any help would be again highly appriciated. thanks guys really thanks.....
