Okay my air fuel ratio gauge wont work....
First off i already searched it but did not really answer my question so dont even think about it. Okay so i bought the auto meter gauge and its not reading right. I have the power wire and the ground correct its just that the signal is not. So first off I have a 99 gsr motor OBDII of course. In there there are two oxegen sensors i have tried to tap it in to the primariy one and that one has 4 wires on it. The one i belive to be it, (the signal wire) is a thick kinda off white wire. But this is reading a wack signal which goes all over the gauge really crazy. The other wires are as follows Blk/wht Yell/blk grn/blk and the fourth one the ONE i think it is is the WHITE one. So which one is it?? Also i would like to connect it to my ecu but the only pure white wire on there also just jumps all over.....what do i do??????
Unless it's wideband, a/f gauges are just decorative. Your best bet would be to pack it back up and take it back and exchange it for an egt gauge or something of the sort. Just my 2 cents. Also, at idle, those guages jump all over the place. They only hold under a load.
All the non wideband a/f gauges seem to bounce around alot, at least the ones I've seen. Gotta agree with speedracer, if you need to moniter your mixture then get a true dedicated wideband O2 sensor setup, or get an EGT which you can put togther for cheap (or spend major moolah on, whichever you choose) You will have to put a probe into one of your primaries though, which some people don't like to do for fear of gettting metal shavings in the turbo...
