How do i rotate to TDC with camshafts off

Default How do i rotate to TDC with camshafts off


Im doing valve seals, and cams have to be out for that. so now im ready to move on to the next cylinder,

how do i rotate to tdc so the valves are closed for the next cylinder without reinstalling the entire cam assembly

nevermind brain fart. valves will all be closed wit no cams installed

You still want to have the piston at TDC for that cylinder so that in case the valve gets dropped, you won't have to pull the head off. Rotate the crank and determine TDC with a flashlight in the spark plug hole or a long screwdriver in the spark plug hole.
