PLEASE SOME HELP!
Ok so i got a stock 96 sedan, its making a weening or kind of a whinding noise when i accelerate and at idle,..also its coming from the timing belt side of the motor, so its kinda freaking me out. and i havent even changed the water pump or timing belt, because I have read it might be the timing belt being too tight? but how would it tighten by itself? i havent touched anything! any help or adivce to what this noise is would be great!

How long has yours been making the noise? have you been driving it?

You might want to check other belts...
How many miles on your car?
When is the last time you change it..
Probably the tensioner is failing.

the other belts seem fine, the noise sounds likes its under the timing cover, so i figure something there...the car has about 220,xxxKM on it, i dont know the last time it had a timing or water pump change, i was going to do that once i get paid from this new job.
but the tensioner you say?..
how much does a tensioner go for?
what would happen when it does fail? like fucked up head or what?
most importantly is it safe to drive right now?

If you do your timing belt... This is a list of parts you'll need to change:
Timing belt
Tensioner
Water Pump
Most people reconmends OEM. But I poor so I used Goodyear belts
I would subjest you change your timing belts.. If you don't know the last time you change or someone change them...
WoW 96 car already reach 220k...
Some people change them every 75k-90k miles so 220k would fall in close the 75k miles unless that is still the second set.. Way over due.
75*3=225k miles... Pretty close to change them anyways...
It should last you until your PD
Pretty easy to DIY.

thanks, hopefully i get the parts tomorrow, bum some cash off the parents and drive it up to my mechanic...i have changed the t belt on my ol hatch,...and after that experience swore i would never change a timing belt by myself again.
if i order the T belt, water pump, and Tensioner Pulley, does the Tensioner Pulley come with the spring too? or will i have to order that spring as well?
