pads. and im not talkin bout maxi pads :)
why do u guys say " GO OEM " about brake pads? i heard good things about hawk pads. and down the road at some brake shop they have LIFETIME garunteed pads and shoes for 89.95 .. what does oem offer that hawk or these lifetime pads doesnt?
Who says go OEM with brake pads?
Please don't buy 'lifetime' pads. They are lifetime because the compound sucks and it doesn't stop the car very well. But they will last a long time...
Carbotech, Axxis, etc all make a pad that works well on the street and stops the car far superior than the OEM pad. Hawk makes a street pad as well. I can't recall what it is. Carbotech = Bobcat, Axxis = Ultimate.
Only drawback is perhaps a bit more noise and more dust and a little more rotor wear. But I can live with that.

I use AEM pads and they're bad *** man. They grip really nice and you can feel the change in stopping. I also paired them up with rotora cross drilled and slotted rotors. That's a nice stopping feel especially when you know your **** won't heat up and warp that easy!

A bit more noise as in the squealing noise? I think the benefit of having OEM pads is that it won't make any squealing noise when you brake.

I've used the Hawk pads and they were great. I'm using the Axxis ceramic pads and they stop great but the amount of brake dust is maybe 3x that of the Hawk.
i've been on hawk pads for a few months now and i love them. there's very little dust, the stopping power is waayyyy better than stock, and they're completely silent. heres a link to them on dezod.
