Do NOT try and run your gsr on a "virgin" p28...
... send it off to someone like John Vega at http://www.phearable.net to get it chipped with a good gsr basemap. He can also take into account any modifications that you have done to your car. That would be the best route.
However, if you are looking for a cheaper route, I have an obd2 p72 ecu out of a 97 gsr that I would sell you very cheap.
Let me know your thoughts.

if you plan on racing with that ecu and that motor ill pay for you to ship it to me since it'll probably blow.
naw j/k.
you can use it as a temp but i wouldn't run it hard or race anyone just yet until you can afford the p72 ecu.
have it chipped by a professional. now you know that you wont be using your secondary butterflies with the p28 right? hope you have a single butterfly setup for the geezer
