Isnt that what intakes are supposed to do????

Yeah misa is right though even after removing the resonator the intake box will still be crap compaired to a good aftermarket cold air intake. Plus depending on how the stock air box is made by taking the resonator off of the stock intake you may be sucking air out of one of the hottest areas in your car. From what I have seen where the accord takes air from stock is already a good location as it is tucked away behind the battery.

my cold air has on ly two bends 60 degree before the t/b and one 90 degree, which i will eventually replace with a 45 degree, and yes the filter is in the wheel well being fed by a 6" aluminum duct that is riveted to the right front duct port in my greddy lip

hmm my intake only has 2 bends in it as well, a 90 degree and another one around 30 degrees. I dont thing there is any way to get less than that 90 degree in my car though just simply because of the angle it comes out of the engine bay and the placement of the framing.

Misa,

I would be interested in seeing a picture of your intake and ducting. Do you have any?

the resonator is hard as hell to romove...the bolt accessed through the fender wall is easy but the one underneath up front is hard as hell to get out due to bad location and no room to work...most wrenches won't fit up there so good luck!

I beleive his battery is in the trunk, I could be wrong though. With the battery gone, you can make smoother bends.

At least for my 98 EX, once you remove the resonator, the intake from the bottom of the airbox points straight down into the cavity behind the bumper. That's as cold as it gets, and the same place the aftermarket CAIs put their cone filters.

Some people are super compulsive about "deleting" bends. I'd like to see dyno comparisons of an intake with two 45 degree bends vs. an intake with two 45 degree and one 90 degree bend (all other things being equal). I don't think the difference would be detectable.

Can't go wrong with an AEM CAI.
