Honda 2 liter fit on a 4g civic and in engine bay
Since you are probably wondering my title sounds so vague. My friend has a 4th gen civic (not sure what model but its a sedan). He just won a honda 2liter engine in an engine rebuild contest. He doesn't know what the engine code is.. i think there is a 2liter accord engine and i know the crv engine is 2 liters. He was wondering if the new engine would hook up to his stock transmission b/c his old engine is shot, 180k on it and he rebuilt it 3times over. Sorry about the lack of specifics or near specifics for that matter, but if you can provide any info it would be appreciated.
If it is the CRV motor (B20B or B20Z) it will fit with a mount kit. It will not bolt up to his current tranny. If it is the old Accord or Prelude A20A (3rd generation Accord, 2nd generation Prelude) or 3rd generation Prelude B20A it would not be worth his time to even bother with it.
Most likely if they were giving it as a prize it would be a CRV motor. As neither of the other motors would be much of a prize.
