Default Honda Civic Sedan

Hey Guys,

I just bought a 06 LX a month ago. i love my car but currently its stock and i want to start to customize it. Honestly i dont know much about cars and wanted to start getting into it. I wanted to do some stuff with my car such as a bodykit (rear, front, spoiler, sides) and put in a cold air intake to start off. I also wanted to put in fog lights and was wondering if anyone could direct me to a dealer or online website where these can be purchased. Will putting fog lights be difficult for those who have done this process? Will i have to cut through the front bumper to allow these lights to show through? also one last question. what does FA and FG mean? =P im a honda noob.

(Just imagine that paint matched) - Only downfall is that you can't use OEM fogs... but you can still get fogs

Wow thanks for the welcome and the feedback. really appreciate it.
One other question before i get a cold air intake:
Which one do you guys have and prefer: AEM or Injen
and also will I have to buy a bypass valve? i read that having a intake in place can lead to hydro blocking during the winter months. Any tips or advice??
thanks!

Some of the newer intakes dont have a bypass valve option, unless your driving through lakes of standing water.. you SHOULD be fine

I've preferred Injen over AEM in "performance" model hondas' however for an auto/manual non si sedan i would opt for whichver is cheaper.

well...... right now i have and AEM CAI in my car, but yeah, i would go with INJEN lol....the AEM CAI is nice, i mean, like you'll love the sound when it gets around 3k,....and to your hydrolocking ...well ....a bypass valve will work, but i heard its not a %100 guarantee...and so is the bags for the filter, ...so if you wanna protect the car and wont have to change it during the rainy or winter seasons...well..go to short ram.....

Thanks for the reply guys. I will look into getting the AEM CAI (http://www.procivic.com/pages-produc...ir-intake.html) and a separate bypass valve. (http://www.procivic.com/pages-produc...***-valve.html) Any ideas why the valves come in different models and in inches?? :confused

Beinvenidos (welcome)
When I was a noob (kinda still am) I asked the same question about FA, FG.
Hope I get this right....
FA is the sedan and FG is the coupe.
The letter designation is from the VIN# on your windshield. Check it out.
The sort of blind leading the blind!

well you have to buy the valve that fits your "width" and match it
for example an AEM CAI for an 00 Integra type R is 3"... you couldnt fit a 2" bypass valve on it or vice versa

It's obvious you made a hasty decision by buying the LX model. Now you are wanting to spend thosands of dollars upgrading this simple entry level vehicle.

Dude, save that money you are wanting to spend on after market gadgets. You will have a nice down payment for 2008 or 2009 SI.

Believe me time flies in a few years 06 will be out dated and resale value will be a lot less than a stock LX on the market.

It's his money and his choice you have no right to tell him otherwise...
example: 92-00 civics(coupes, sedans, hatchbacks) are modded and witht ime faster than our current vehicles for there's lack of aftermarket support but aftermarket parts are coming =D
As for modding the car, the HFP bodykit looks good. Ebay stuff is pretty much rice.
Get new bulbs since stock sucks and please for the love of god dont buy an hid kit and throw them in there...people don't like ufo-looking cars blinding everyone on the road. Can be dangerous

Don't get so defensive. It's free advice from a old guy (47) who has spent many thousands of dollars foolishly modifying motorcycles, watercrafts and speed boats.

I now drive an 06 Honda Civic Navi (part time) just to save a little money on fuel...I refuse to drive My Ford F-350 crew Cab needlessly and support OPEC.

By the you look HOT and sassy, keep smiling TOOTSIE ROLL!
