d15b2 oil pan the same as d16z6? Compatible?
That's all I need to know!
Will an oil pan from a d15b2 fit a d16z6?
I looked up the oil pan gasket part numbers and they are exactly the same. However, I need to make sure that the oil pans are the same design, depth etc.
I looked up the actual oil pan part numbers and they are as follows:
d15b2: 11200-PM3-020
d16z6: 11200-P08-020
I don't know exactly how Honda does their part numbers, but they appear to be pretty darn similar, except for the "PM3" and "P08".
The reason I want to know is, I have a spare d15b2 oil pan in my garage. I am going turbo in a few weeks, and would like to just tap and weld the spare oil pan ahead of time, then just switch the oil pans out during the install day. This would save me quite a bit of time for a number of reasons.
Anyone know for sure if these are the same pans??

Good thinking.
I looked up the oil pickups for both:
d15b2: 15220-PM3-000
d16z6: 15220-P08-000
Looks to be the same issue as with the oil pan numbers. I know that P08 is a code for the d16z6 (same as on the girdle, head etc), and the PM3 is the code for the d15b2.
Maybe they are the same parts? But why would they have different part numbers if they were?
