first time at the track last night-life ruined by .02 sec
hehe, yeah got to go the 1/4 last night for the first time, really wanted to get into the 14's but my best time was a 15.01 AHHH, i think with a little more time i could have brocken in. i was getting crappy starts partly cause of inexperince but also becuase i'm riding on a bald set of stock michellins. i'm happy with the time, just wanted to go before i start doing work to my car for a baseline run. I realized after though cause i was thinking about how some of you guys get better times that it was 90 degres out and humid as hell so i think that wasn't helping much. IM happy though
15.01 is a pretty good time.
Times depend a lot on the tracks condition as well.
My best time thus far is a 15.1 @ 91.88...
My only mods are an AEM intake...
I ran that w/ full interior, on stock Michelins.

thanks, trap speed was 94pmh reaction was pretty good at .52 but my 60 was crap at 2.46 that run was good cause of the reaction time i had other 60 times at 2.3 i think if i could have put a perfect run together i would have tapped into the 14s.

I'm pretty new to racing, and my friend Christian (Integraholic) is a better driver than me... so after running 15.4, and 15.5, I let him run it.
He ran a 15.131 @ 89.84mph
The next run, I ran a 15.143 @ 91.88mph
I removed the spare tire, lowered tire pressure to 25psi, and pulled the ps belt.
Christian ran his 15.1 with the power steering belt on.

15.8 if you ask Motor Trend.

this is what it seems to me, looks like i'm getting bad starts since my 60 is around a 2.4 but i gaining it back up top since my trap speed is 94mph, i'm launching at 2500 to 3500 letting it spin till 4-5k where it grabs, does this seem like the problem? with that high trap speed i should be able to get better times right?
It has been my experience, that I have better luck launching around 4800-5300rpm... spin up until about 6500... and grab.
I ran 15.008@93mph on a BONE STOCK 95 GSR with full interior. Have the slips to prove it. Those motor trend ******* don't know how to drive hondas worth ****.

mattl that is a good time for minor mods. Get some good rubberat will drop your 60 ft then putting you into 14's easily. Good job though
In my gs-r i ran 15.01 with i/h/e so i now how it feels to almost go home with a 14 sec timeslip, now im wanting that 12 sec timeslip.

I ran a 14.8 @ 93.7 with I/H/E
I know someone who ran a 14.5 with only AEM CAI!!
SCREW Magazine times! They're BS! I really think the GS-R is a LOW 15 second car stock if you drive it properly.

i think some of you guys are exaggerating your times. its funny how you run low 15s stock... or runnin high 14s with only a damn cold air intake. come on now... you got to have gutted out your car or used slicks. scan your slips and prove it. i go to the track alot and have yet to see a stock car pull that low of a time or knock off .3 of a second with CAI.
hey it depends on the track too.. some are in better elevation than others.
Back in 94, when slicks werent as common on our cars. high 14's would be common on new 94 GSR's with just intake and exhaust.
Timing would be advanced, and other little stuff.
So dont knock it cuz people have done it.

I'm serious. He ran a 14.5 w AEM CAI only! The person is on this Board and he backed it up with Timeslips too!!! Its somewhere around and he's still on this board....
the 14.5 was w/ only a CAI is Christian Martinez aka Integraholic.
He's the one who drove my car to the first 15.1
then I backed it up with another 15.1 (after he removed my ps belt)
This is with full interior..., spare tire removed.
His 14.5 was with no backseats...
I can better than back it up with timeslips... I have a video of him running a 14.7 (wasn't there for the 14.5) I can get on here... I'll let you guys know when it's up.
I also have a video of me running a 15.4 a couple weeks ago. (not that it proves anything)

damn, all i can say is it must have been a very stong motor and very good conditions. i have a friend with a gsr-hatch (2100lb) who is an excellent driver and he gets 14.5 quarters, doesnt seem very realistic with just a CAI
I'll get my slips scanned asap. As for seeing my engine, go to http://www.indyimport.com, click on galleries, click on Acura, and then click on the red GS-R with Christian Martinez above it. The 14.5 pass was with no seats except driver of course, no spare or jack, front tires set to 25 psi and running on stock GS-R wheels powdercoated gunmetal wrapped in Toyo Proxes FZ4's.
edit: Oh by the way, from what I hear, those magazines do the 1/4 test with the G-Tech meter on a parking lot.
