timing question d16y8 with p28 ecu
this isnt really explained any where and is not clear to me or probably most people
im about to do a d16y8 motor swap into an obd1 eg
and i plan on running a stock p28(d16z6) ecu, everything should be fine but the timming is where im questionable at
since the d16y8 motor timing is 12 degree's
and the d16z6 motor is 16 degree's , this is the p28 ecu i was going to use
what kind of problems will i have with the difference in timing or will it not matter?
do i need to get an aftermarket cam gear and correct the timing that way?
or
can i adjust the timing from the distributor and try to get it close to 16 degree's
or
can i just throw the stock motor in and stock p28 ecu and will it be fine?
all input is welcome, thanks
