yes it would be much better...!!!

just pre drill the hole to the size of the bolt and use little washers, then paint to match it up

or you could just rivet it on, but small bolts with nyloc nuts would work best.

self tapping screws are the best....can be bought anywhere. wal-mart... home depot..freddys.. they look like a normal screw but has a drill bit type tip. that way, it screws in nicely. holds on verry good. but yeahh,,,, cant beat small nuts and washers

DO you actually have to drill into the bumper when installing the lip? I thought on 99-00 there was factory mounts for it. I could def. be wrong.

The bumpers have rivets of where to drill the holes.

The bumpers do have factory mounting locations and factory hardware .... but that only applies if you have a REAL CTR lip.

So you have to drill the lip into your bumper wherever you see fit?

Best way to do a CTR-style lip for a 96-98:

Is to put two self-tapping screws on the part that folds into the wheel wel, and use 3m double-stick waterproof tape on the part that sits in the mouth of the bumper.

As soon as I get my SiR knock-off lip, I'm also gonna do a write-up on how to have an SiR style lip with hardware, installed for less than $200.

Fark the original part cost:

JDM Lip - $170
Honda OEM Hardware - $50
Shipping $100
=========
Cost $320

Doens't jdmshit's lips come with hardware? Prices are shipped as well. I was thinking about getting the CTR lip from them.

****, I haven't EVER seen the lip for less than $160 shiiped. I just bought mine today. And I'm not using double sided. I'm using actual spring clips and bolts. So it'll still utilize factory mounting points.
