neuspeed konis help please
i ordered a set of neuspeed konis last week and so far only the fronts have arrived. i was wondering how i can tell if they are really the neuspeed ones and not the regular koni yellows. also, do you have to reuse the factory perches because it dosent look like they came with any. the directions that came with the shocks are a joke. also, i chose the neuspeed konis because i wanted the extra height settings. just from looking at them, i cant figure out how i would vary the height. it looks like there is only one place for the pearches to sit, similar to the stock shocks. any help would be appreciated. thanks in advance.
if those with the neuspeed konis for 96-00 civics could post there part #'s it would be great.

you should be able to tell the difference a couple of ways:
1. 5 circumferential grooves around the lower part of the shock body. The regular konis only have 2 on the fronts and 3 on the rears. neuspeed has 5 on all four.
2. check the part numbers. the neuspeed ones have their own specific part numbers. look on http://www.neuspeed.com to check them.
as far as adjusting the spring perch height goes, thats an easy task. you should see a small clip sitting inside one of the grooves. it should be the middle of the 5 if you have 5. all you do is take a pair of needlenose pliers, or retaining clip pliers if you have them(i do, worked like a charm) and decompres the clip. them move it to whatever perch setting you want it on. as far as the perches go, they should have been included in a small bag along with the adjusting ****, washers, nuts, and metal sleeve. when you put the shocks together with the spring you will first put the plastic washer on, then your bumpstop (preferrably cut in half), then either the thick or thin washer (shouldnt really matter much but i cant remember which one went on first), then the dust cover that you enlarged the hole on (i didnt even put mine back on, you dont really need 'em), the the other of the two metal washers, then the spring, then the spring hat with the new metal sleeve pressed in. you need the metal sleeve or else the shock pistn will not fit through the top hat. then put on the first of the 19mm nuts, then the second to lock it down. use a deep well 19mm socket so that you dont damage the shocks adjusting **** mounting point. this, along with the instructions that koni gave, and the helms manual if you have one shoudl be all you need to do the job. good luck....

The 2 metal washers have slightly different outside diameters, the smaller one goes under the dust cover, the larger one above. I would suggest keeping the dust covers on there. The tops of my shocks (especially where the piston enters the casing) is all nice and clean since I have my stock dust covers on there. If you leave them off you might void part of the lifetime warranty.
