Default accord h22 problems

ok i have a 1996 honda accord with 1998 jdm H22A with 1999 OBD2 H22a ECU, and i am getting 4 to 5 engine light codes and now when i go past 6,000 RPMs my car starts backfiring and doesnt want to rev any higher, has anyone had this kind of problem with the h22a in a accord. Here are the CEL codes :

P1491 Fuel Air Metering
P0138 O2 sensor high voltage
P1457 Fuel Air Metering Aux emission controls
P0136 O2 sensor circuit malfunction
P1491 Manufacturer Control Aux emissions controls

alright changed the secondary o2 sensor, but still backfires after vtec engagement and hesitates, going to try changing the plugs and wires and see it that solves the problem. Does anyone have an idea of what the problem could be?

Are you running a P5P or a P13 as you said in another thread? You mentioned running a "stock obd2 p13 prelude ecu" in the other thread... the P13 is an OBD1 ECU.

Oh, and also, you said you changed the secondary O2, so I'll assume (I know... shouldn't do that... especially with Honda O2 sensors) that perhaps your'e no longer throwing that code (P0138 Secondary Heated Oxygen Sensor Circuit High Voltage).

Here are the "interpretted" codes you're probbaly currently throwing now then.

P1491 Exhaust Gas Recirculation (EGR) Valve Insufficient Lift
P1457 Evaporative Emissions (EVAP) Control System Leakage (EVAP Canister System)

Oh, and check to make sure your EVAP and EGR tubes aren't in plugged in wrong.

The exhaust-gas recirculation passageways in the intake manifold can get clogged. I suppose that's true for V6 also? ....

P1457 = EVAP system leak, control canister system.
There's a half-dozen valves, bunch of vacuum tubing, a filter, & a charcoal canister under the back seat. Something's not airtight... The canister vent-shut valve is a common failure (mine did) but this is another case where there's several pages of checks in the Helm manual to find which part is actually bad.</TD></TR></TABLE>

ok finally fixed the problem, the msd box and msd external coil were bad, replaced the coil and bypassed the msd box and everything runs pretty damn good now, i am still getting an O2 code though for high voltage and those 2 codes above that might be because im running a 99 ecu on a 98 motor. Im sure those will go away once i get chipped P28 and get it tuned : )

Not all P13 ecu's are obd1, a P13-A12 is obd2 out of the 96 prelude vtec

Interesting. I did a search and didn't find any info on that ECU. I'll have to add that to my list then. Thanks. Sorry for the screw up.
